    Hey everyone,

I am wanting to animate a shape/object in Motion 3 and am looking for any help on the following:

I want to create a box that rotates 180 degrees, as if it is a signal sign that snaps up – any ideas?

Also looking for help/suggestions/tutorials on creating a shape that can swing as if on hinges, similar to that found in the intro of stranger than fiction….

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Thanks.
    Tris.

To make a layer swing on it’s edge, you first move its anchor point to the edge, then animate it with behaviors or keyframes.

    Mark,

Thanks for your reply. I have moved the anchor point and am using keyframes but its proving impossible to get it natural looking. Could you give me any advice?

As mentioned previously, i am after an effect similar to that on Stranger than Fiction, where objects and text appear to swing naturally.

Any help would be greatly received!
    Thanks.

It probably looks un-natural because it is not easing in and out of the rotation. Select your object in the timeline and then go to the Keyframe Editor. Select the Keyframes and right click on one and choose Interpolation – Bezier. Hope this helps and best of luck.
