  • Motion export movie: drop zone still visible

Posted by Kevin Kuipers on March 1, 2014 at 7:10 am

Hello all, I have created a Title project in Motion. I would like to export it to a “transparant” movie so it can be used by somebody else as an overlay video (they are not using FCPX)

Problem is that whatever I try, I keep having the Dropzones visible.
I tried the pro res 4444 codec, but that is not the solution (so far).

    Thanx for any advice,

    Kevin Kuipers

    Turn off the drop zone.

Hi Mark, thank you for your fast reply 🙂

If you say turn of the drop zone, do you mean deleting them? Since if I do that, the project is changed in such a way, that the output is different. Or is there a “alternative” way to turn them off? I so could you explain shortly how?

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

I mean click the activation checkbox for the dropzone layer to make it inactive, i.e., invisible.

If I uncheck the drop zone , than I see the other layer, in this case the white background. If i export this movie, nothing is transparant anymore, and than I miss my “transparant” boxes at the right.

    See screenshots included.

What I’m looking for is that the boxes at the right are “transparent” in the exported video file, and not showing the “arrow drop zones”

To illustrate I have also included the motion file. If it would be possible for you to have a quick look at my project you can find it in the link below.

Kevin, there is no transparency in that template. There are dropzones, there are colored shapes. If you want the dropzones themselves to be transparent, that would take a lot of work to re-engineer the project.
