  Motion Effects with Retiming Issues

  I have created a few “video in” TV Monitor/Laptop/Cell phone graphics for my news station that I have designed as both generators and effects, not knowing what would be the better option. When the effect is applied I have a 10s background that is layered underneath the graphic. When I go into the timing controls for the background and set it to loop for a higher value (longer than the effect would ever need) and try to apply it does not apply the loop timing to the effect itself. Is there a step I am missing? Can a generator and effect work differently with timing?
