i am currently working on a project that needs hundreds of lines. by default in the inspector they are created with rounded ends. to get them square ended i have to select each one separately and change the settings. can anyone tell me how to change the default to q square ends. thanks

You can’t change the default. But you can modify a line, then drag it to the Shapes folder or the Favorites folder in the Library, and just drag it back in every time you need one.

Or, use a rectangle with fill and no outline and make it skinny.

However, if you plan to have “hundreds of lines” in a single project, I’d highly recommend you look at using a replicator or emitter or cloning.

thanks for your reply. however i need to use write – on function which doesn’t work with rectangle with no line. the problem with using shape styles is that each line will be different length and different orientation.

    will try replicator

ps – love your AE tutorials
