I’m sure this is probably a quick easy fix and I’m sorry if so but anyway…. I made an oval using the ellipticle tool, made it white, put a zoom blur on it, now when I expand the effects to spread way out the effects only goes so far before it is cropped , I know that if I make a document in Photoshop thats much bigger than my oval then the effects in Motion can spread to the edges of my doc. but shouldn’t I be able to spread the effect as far as I can on an oval made IN Motion, without it being cropped? Thanks so much!!!

You should apply the blur to the layer that your object is in, not the object itself. This is the way Motion works, and when you learn to work with it it can be a very powerful tool.

    My pleasure.

This is also how nesting or ‘precomposing’ and parenting work in Motion. By applying effects, moves behaviors to a layer it works on all objects in that layer, including other layers.
