  Motion clip locks up FCP during playback

  Hi,

  I’m running on OSX 10.5.2, FCP 6.0.2 and Motion 3.0.2 on a dual 3Ghz quadcore Mac Pro with 4GB RAM and NVIDIA 8800GT graphics card. Video I/O card is the AJA Kona LHe.

  When I try to playback an unrendered Motion clip in the FCP timeline, it will choke on the playback and then goes into spinning beachball, which at that point, force quit is the only option to get out of the situation.

  I’ve tried to playback this sequence on another machine and is same bevahour.

  My only advise to the customer is to render everything before attempting any playback. This so far seems to be the workaround but just wanna check if anyone has enounted this.

  Any advise appreciated.
