Motion Blur Switch?
Any way to use an Expression Slider or checkbox to turn motion blur on and off?

I do that all the time too and it does save a lot of render time.
It’s best to wait until you’re done with all of your tweaking before splitting the clips or it will be a pain trying to keep all of the sections of the clips synchronized.
