Hi, I’ve noticed something in my attempts to become better in my attempts at being a film maker. I still have am very much a noobie even though I have been shooting for awhile now on my oldie but good vixia hf100. Recently upgraded to a t4i. Mainly because it wouldn’t handle everything I kept throwing at it.

The observation is this. Quite a majority of so called film makers will tell you motion blur is a good thing. I tend to strongly know otherwise. Its the difference between the crowd and those who may eventually get somewhere.

I am getting sick and tired of the usual its ok. I need honest to good answers and a solution even if a person may think otherwise.

The problem at hand is motion blur when one inserts motion and slightly faster pans in their footage. Going slower is not an option. Here is an example in scene 1:20 where he is running and notice the horrible things it does to the footage when the camera follows him.

I have lots to learn and I need solutions not a follow the crowd answer. We have tried shooting at various shutter speeds with no success. Those were starting from 30 all the way to 120.

The only thing that was in anyways better was shooting in 720p at 60fps. However that is not an option either as I need full hd through the whole length of the production.

Conclusion Obviously I have lots to learn. I only want and need solutions and I will be able to detect right away if your reply is a possible solution or a follow the crowd scenario. Please keep this in mind when replying.
