    does the bypass motion blur button on the video track control effect the blur type? like gaussian or pyramid? or is it only for blur effects applied?

    Only bypass blur completely.

    I am not sure what bypass gaussian or pyramid could possibly mean. Which of the other 4 options would be used in that circumstance?
