Motion and Smoke – Copy a Music Video help?!
Hi,
been watching a music video by Natalie Imbruglia – “Smoke” you can see it here..

Now, can anyone point me to how I might re-create this effect of smoke fading in/out of a subject in the shot. Obviously the backgrounds are very plain in this one, so would have to shoot carefully but HOW would I do anything like this? I have Final Cut Studio 2 but not after effects or anything.
Any help, tips and guidance very gratefully received.

Quite easy, use a smoke generator out of Motion for the key. She was probably shot on greenscreen and then keyed with the smoke mask on the background.
