I’m trying to render a lower third with a motion alpha from AE to premiere pro, but not having much luck.

I’m rendering to QT animation, millions of colors +, RGB + Alpha. I’ve tried both Straight and Premulitplied and am having no luck. On import to Premiere the title has a black back ground. (

Even tried rendering separate apha, and HAVE gotten it to work through a ‘keying’ plug in that allows use of black and white image as a matte… Tell me this is not the work flow, please, it didn’t look good and seems tedious)

I HAVE confirmed that I set up the AE project (and all included pre-comps) so that there is no Black background layer at the root. The AE comp is path text and layers with track mattes.

Am I overlooking something simple? Premiere does not prompt me on whether there’s and alpha on import, and Interpret footage only yeilds reverse and ignore alpha…

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried rendering an AVI? Perhaps the QT file isn’t interpreting properly?

    Arthur,

(Geez I hate fake names in here – but if you really have a birth certificate with that name, I would truly love to see it.)

If you would like to send me your AE project file, I can take a look at it for you. Just zip it up and send it to the email address listed on the web site in my Profile.

    Thanks!

this is what i get for doing work at mid night. When I looked at AVI the first time, I tried to click on Millions Colors+ but that was greyed out… what I forgot to do in AE was choose RGB + Alpha. so not realizing that I tried the tried and true QT animation, but clearly premiere pro doesn’t like.

I’m good now, thanks for the quick response!
