Motion 5 – Shadow with Text Motion Effects

First things first your project needs to be 3D.

If so. . .

Make sure that “Shadows” under the light’s settings is on. And, since you have it on spot, make sure that your text does not go out of the light beam.

Also make sure that under the text options that Cast Shadows and is on.

I have that working ok, when i add the “Quasar In” i find that the shadow disappears.

Oh ok I see what you mean. It does the same with other text effets. It’s prolly because Motion can’t do it.

You could try duplicating the layer, making it black, and making it bigger and stuff to mimic a shadow. If you would want to try that I would be glad to help you out if you want!

But I’m not sure that that is possible. But keep trying.
You might try calling Apple.

If you clone the text with the behaviour, the clone will cast the shadows.
