Motion 5 and the evil beach ball
Currently running OS X 10.9.4, FCP 10.1.2, and Resolve 11 on mid 2012 Mac Pro. For some reason Motion will launch but have the lovely beach ball shows up for a few seconds before I can make a selection. Running most current version and had this issue with 5.1 as well. Only plug ins is Red Giant Universe and that is it. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
Also, what are some good resources for really getting to know Motion? A great little application and want to learn more.

Trashing preferences may help. What graphics card are you using?

Graphics card is ATI Radeon 5770 HD, did trash preferences. Still getting beach ball.

That’s a decent card – how much RAM do you have?
You might try reinstalling Motion, it’s quite easy – just delete the app, then re-download from the app store.
