motion 4 won’t allow media replacement?!
Hi All- head scratcher:
Opened old (M3) project in 4. No prob. Went to reconfig SD as HD and swap in HD version of same media by –
-selecting media in Media window
-click “replace media file”
-NO WINDOW OPENS to permit selecting repl file?!Open up other, unrelated Motion projects to do same – NO PROBLEM?!
Have opened and re-jigged Motion 3 Projects in 4 before with no issues…
WTF?
Help! 🙂

what happen if you just drag the new media atop the the old layer and drop it when you see the curved arrow cursor (indicating a replace media move). It’s another way to replace media. Also, it’s not unusual to have no problems when one project is updated from M3 to M4, but with another there’s all kinds of problems. Updating projects is not a bulletproof procedure.

Thanks Andy – not familiar with THAT move 🙂
My work around was to delete the _original_ file in the source folder, so when motion went looking for it I could THEN select the replacement file. Dumb but effective.
like I said, its not CONSISTENTLY a problem, even when jumping M3 projects to M4.
