Motion 3 stilm failing to launch on MBP
Adding to my post below, I thought I had solved this problem by installing a ProApps update. Motion 3 opened and ran normally. Well, that was yesterday. Today it still fails to open. It just begins to launch and then I get the Unexpectedly Quit window. Reid pointed me to a known problem with Motion quitting in the past for a number of users. I’m assuming that this might have been the old Ozone plugin problem.This doesn’t seem to be related to this however. I’m going to try reinstalling Motion 3 tonight. Another interesting thing is that none of the Master templates are showing up in FCP either. The folder is empty.
I installed the entire Studio 2 package with the exception of the three disks of audio elements. I’m assuming that this should have been OK since I’m running this on a laptop with a Windows partition and drive space is a little tight. I have about 40 gigs remaining at this point.Am I missing anything here? Why did it work yesterday and fail to launch today?

Software Updater says that everything’s up to date.Repaired permissions, ran Disk Warrior…all the usual stuff. -

I may have found the problem. After looking at the crash log, I noted references to a Noise Industries FX plug just before a Kernel Panic and crash. I went into the FX Plug folder in the Library folder and removed the Noise Industries plug. All seems to be working now. Motion launches OK and is stable. The Motion Templates in FCP are now showing up as is my DVMatte FXplug. Neither were appearing before even though they were loaded and in the correct folders. Could it be this simple?
I’ll post more as I get further into this.
