Hello, I am running a MacPro 2X Quad Core 3.2Ghz 8GB ram and 2TB drive which is also connected to an Xsan for extra storage. Anyway, I have not opened Motion 3 in a few weeks. I go to start an new project which is due Monday, and it crashes after it starts up within a few seconds every time. I have viewed a few forums and it said to apply the ProApp 2008 Update, well I did that and it does not allow me to “apply” the update. The error says that Motion 3 is not in the applications folder. It is indeed in that folder. Any suggestions on what I can do????

    TIA

Look for wmv files that may be attached to your last opened project.
You may need to update Flip4Mac or kill it till you figure this out.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

    Trash your preferences.

    Library>Preferences>com.apple.motion.plist

    This should resolve the issue.

Thanks guys for the information. I updated FlipMac and still no effect. I tried to delete the (Library>Preferences>com.apple.motion.plist) and that file is not in my preferences.

I am still having the same problems. Any more suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Samm

    Check this preference folder

    Mac HD>Users>Computer>Library>Preferences

The preference folder within your users directory should contain the motion preference file.
