Motion 2 to After Effects 6.5

I am getting very bad quality going from native motion 2 files to after effects 6.5. The quality is very jagged and all of my after effects settings are at full quality. I imported the files with the quicktime option and a straight matte. Am I doing something wrong b/c this is option useless if the quailty is this bad.

How can I use 1 Motion 2 file for a motion menu and a transition without creating 2 different motion 2 files?
Here is what I want to do.
I want the motion menu to appear then stop and loop. Then I want the next half to be used for the transition video. It will fade to black.

Can I use markers to create this effect? Is there a tut I can follow?

I am setting a play range but when I import the files into DVDSP 4 it plays the whole movie. Why would it do that?

If you are importing the Motion project file into DVDSP it will read the whole project, irrespective of the play range. You can adjust what gets played in the Inspector in DVDSP, or you can change your project duration in Motion. As to your question about quality, how are you viewing final output? In FCP? On an NTSC monitor?

I have not checked it out on a monitor yet. It looks so bad that I assumed it will not loot look good. I have text I made in after effects and it looks perfect, but the text from motion looks horrible.

Are you interpreting the alpha channel from Motion correctly? Premulitplied with Black when importing into AE.

OK. That helped alot, but I noticed that the edges are blurry in after effects and in motion for the text and shapes. After effects text and shape edges are very sharp and crisp. Does Motion make the edges a little softer for ntsc puposes?
