I need AE. It seems like after I’m done with a cut that almost every shot is eventually brought into AE. I’m wondering if anyone one knows of any articles or tutorials that explain the most streamlined or the most efficient way to bring elements in and out of AE while using FCP. I mean – it just seems so… inefficient the way I’m doing it now and just creates a lot of clutter. Thanks

you need to get Automatic Duck…..then you can export the fcp timeline and open it up in AE. easy.

    Hi Jordan,
AutomaticDuck is what you need to send your FC sequence to AE. Expensive, but it seems that is the only solution.

Not forgetting this new Adobe Premiere 4.0.1 feature of importing an FCP XML … and then using Adobe’s Dynamic Link to open it in AE.

up until a few months ago… i would say use automatic duck…

HOWEVER. i discovered this free tool
    Popcorn Island https://www.popcornisland.com/downloads

i have tried it and it works perfectly. used it in at least 5 projects by now.

i’m tempted to crown it my “best free app of 2008”

install it, and follow the simple instructions

    enjoy
