  • Most efficient method of doing L- and J-Cuts?

For such things like dialogue scenes in a narrative, what is the most efficient way of doing L- and J-Cuts?

Should you have one track for the video and the track below for audio?

Or it it more efficient to have one track for one person speaking (with accompanying dialog beneath), and a separate video track with the other person speaking?

    Thanks.

I do them with one track for video with the audio track below. I use to temporarily use Ignore Event Grouping to quickly extend the audio cuts. I have this assigned to a key on my ShuttlePro2. With Vegas Pro 12.0 you can now hold Shift (for trim) or Ctrl+Alt+Shift (for adjacent trim) while dragging an event edge to ignore event grouping for fast J and L cuts.

And how good is that! Thanks for reminding me John. I had forgotten these two shortcuts.

Yea, I find it hard to remember all the shortcut keys myself. I just remember reading about the new feature.
