I’m wondering what the top morphing plug ins are. I’ve heard alot about “Elastic Reality” but can’t seem to find a website for it. Any other suggestions?

According to Wikipedia, Elastic Reality was discontinued in 1999.

Elastic Reality is long dead. Your only sensible option is RE:Flex from RevisionFX. It’s the only morpher plugin for almost every compositing program out there (including combustion* and Fusion) and it’s also probably the most sophisticated tool of its kind in existance. There are a few standalone tools as well, but they are mostly not better than the Reshape filter or produce even worse quality.

Depending on what you need to do, there are a number of FREE applications out there that will do a nice job making a morph, and output either a movie, or still frames (which I prefer, because I can do whatever blending/effects I want) that you can drop into AE.

    Mac:MorphX
    Windows:WinMorph

They’re both available at versiontracker.com, or you may already have your own favorite shareware site.

Just like making mosaics, etc, I’ve found that a freeware/shareware application is often cheaper and easier than looking for a plugin for AE for my limited usage needs.

Don’t know how much the Re:Flex plugin costs, but Re:Flex is included free with Combustion..might be more sensible to buy that..add more strings to your bow, etc.

Or did I just get some AE heckles up?

I still use Elastic Reality for the very infrequent morphing jobs we get – still VERY good. Haven’t delved into Re:Flex yet, but I’m sure it’s probably AT LEAST as good.
