  • Morph Tag?

    Using ver. 10 here.
Are the Morph Tag and Morph Deformer Object different things? I’m confused. In the help the tags look the same with the exception of Morph Deformer Object tag having a arrow pointing upward diagonal left. For the life of me I cant cannnot find the Morph Deformer Object. Sorry just going through the Quickstart on Morph Tool and Im a lil’confused, as always.

    thanks!

They are different things, but they work together. The purpose of the deformer is to add falloff capability to Cinema’s morphing toolset. For example, if you’ve created a smile pose and you only want your character to smile on the left side of her face, you can assign the morph tag to a deformer, set the deformer’s falloff to “linear”, and then position the deformer so that smile pose only happens on the left side.

This can be useful directly in animation, or you can use it as a helper to create new poses for the Morph Tag.

    Thanks alot Adam!
So is a “Morph Deformer Object” a Deformer Object with just a Morph Tag?

The deformer object doesn’t get a tag itself–it has a slot in the AM where you can drag and drop a morph tag so it knows which one to use.
