I need to make a logo crack like a rock cracking.

The current logo (eps) is cracked by the artist, and it looks awesome, so I do not want to change his design.

I want to start with a clean version of the logo, then have it transition into the existing cracked version, but animate it so that it looks like it is cracking.

My thought is to morph it. Does that make sense? Can that be done in C4D? Any better suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

Morphing won’t work, as it requires that the two objects have the same number of points and the same point order.

In your case I would try using two versions of the logo — one cracked and the other not — and use an animated boolean or textrure/alpha to reveal the cracked version.
