    Hi,
So….since the track matte effects gets confused if the layers that is to be masked is being zoomed, or moving -or- if the layer that shines through is being zoomed or moving……. I moved/zoomed those layers and exported them as a video. Now premiere doesn’t know anything better, it’s just a video clip playing……………however

If I set a layer to have a track matte effect, but there’s photo or video in the layer above – WHY, tell me WHY would it still mask it.

Is there a way to turn track matte on/off with key frames? I can see that you can change the composite or reverse – but I want it on/off.

WHY would someone design an effect with such limited use. This is SO frustrating. The world is not STILL, and our minds aren’t limited to the way you think we think.

    Churned in Charlotte!!

Cut your fill layer where your mask ends. Remove the effect from the remaining clip length.

If the layer is to be moved or scaled nest them first and tweak the parameters in the nest.

You can solve the movement issue the way Ann suggests, or you could use the Transform effect in the Distort bin. It gets processed differently than the Motion effect.

If you want to eliminate a track matter for part of the time, just cut the video where you want to stop and start again, and then delete the effect on the portion that is cut out.

Thanks for the suggestion…………a better idea would be for the software engineers to allow on/off key frames of any/all effects as a whole.
