More ram for a mac book pro
I am thinking about increasing the ram in my mac book pro. I have 8 gigs now will it help me to move up to 16 gigs. And what advantages will it give me, will the cost be worth it. I have a 2011 mac book pro with thunderbolt and using G teck thunderbolt drives. running Avid MC 8.5

It’ll give you the advantage of being able to have more than one app open at the same time. You can now, but when RAM runs out, the OS uses the hard drive as RAM and that will slow things down. You won’t see a boost in Avid performance aside from that. But I think it’s worth it.
