Right now the Decklink HD Extreme has some amazing functionality. But I would like to output:

10 bit YCbCr 444 and 422 (up to 2K) over HDMI
10 bit RGB (up to 2K) over HDMI

From what I understand this IS POSSIBLE with the 1.3 HDMI spec right now. In fact, HDMI may even be able to support 12 bit output right now. Obviously, this is to be used in conjunction with the new ProRes 4444 codec OR even an uncompressed signal.

Although the conventional wisdom would be to use SDI for this kind of signal, there are monitors out there (or coming out soon) that can take a 10 bit signal in both RGB and YCbCr flavors over HDMI–the “poor man’s SDI.”

So can you build a card that will do this OR is it just a firmware update?

    Thanks in advance,
