I’m sure that this has been covered elsewhere but I can seem to find in with a search at the moment. I’m relatively new to the whole HD world I am currently working in a PAL environment with HDCAM footage using FCP 5 and a KONA 2 card connected to a SOny J-H3 Deck.

Some of the HDCAM tapes I’ve been sent slates say that they are 1080 29.97 format but FCP only wants to take them in at 1080i25. The image just breaks up in the capture window unless this setting is is selected is this a problem?

Will there be any problems capturing this footage at 25fps?

[jackdown] “Some of the HDCAM tapes I’ve been sent slates say that they are 1080 29.97 format but FCP only wants to take them in at 1080i25.”

if the slates on tape say 29.97 then you need to change your capture setup to 29.97 not 25/50i
