More EDL export issues
Hey y’all
I saw this question on here a few weeks ago from someone else, but it didn’t get answered, so here it is again-
Most of the time I can export an EDL from a variety of sequences in FCP 5 just fine. But on certain sequences (always the same ones) I will export it, name it, select the location, hit “okay” and then when I go to look for it- nothing is there. Second senerio is, I try to export it and I get the “General Error 34.” (thats only one sequence though) I can copy the sequence and it wont export an EDL. Rename the sequence, no EDL. Copy the content of the sequence into a NEW sequence, no EDL. Copy the sequence into a new FCP project, no EDl. Clear the markers out of the sequence, no EDL… and on and on and on.
This happened when I was in FCP 4.5 and after the FCP 5 install, same thing.
So, what am I missing? What is wrong with these specific timelines (or the content of the timelines) that makes exporting an EDL impossible? These clips are all .mov QT files (DVCPRO 23.98 NTSC) and some aiff music/sound. There is some 29.97 footgae mixed with the 23.98 footage in every single sequence, but some of these will export, some won’t.
Also, I HAVE tried yelling at the G5, but it still won’t let me export the dang EDL.

Hey Rita!
I was having this same problem and found that deleting any freeze frames I created within FCP enabled me to export an EDL. Go figure.
