    5 minute ProRes project, exporting to FLV through QT conversion. I check the output in MpegStreamclip and the image is squished horizontally. I’ve tried many variations within the Flash encoder to try to maintain the 16×9 ratio to no avail. What should I do?

    I don’t know how you expect anyone to help you, because you haven’t told anyone what your original material was, and what your target is. It’s kind of like phoning up your mechanic and saying “Fix my car”, then hanging up.

    Wow. That’s harsh. I certainly won’t be calling you up to fix my car!

    Here’s what I wrote:

    ProRes = HDV
    FLV = Flash = web

    So there it was… original source & target, right?

    Just make sure that the output size keeps the 16×9 proportions. So:
    – 160×90
    – 320×180
    – 480×270
    – 640×360
    …….etc. And all the in between values that keeps the same proportion.
    Your clip will look properly Anamorphic in QT, FP or WMV.

    Use the On2 VP6 codec for highest quality. Un-click maintain aspect ratio before entering the 16:9 size. Otherwise it’ll default to 4:3 if that was the last setup used.
