Mono audio to stereo or two track output

Thanks Tom for the quick response. Tried that with the pan , control-period and hoped it was that easy. Still, I’m getting output on left channel only. My audio tab says stereo (a1a2). Is the problem in my capture settings? I know in avid any mono audio track can be changed to mid in the audio tool.

What’s happening in the meters when you center the audio? Are they both moving?

When I center the audio with pan there’s no change. Left channel and right do move on the meters. Left at a normal level, right bounces just a bit at -60.

It sounds like you still have a stereo pair. You need to switch that off and get rid of the useless track. When there is only one mono track then center that.

I’m sorry to jump in so late in the game, but I’m having a similar problem and was hoping someone could help.

I’m a beginner and just recorded a segment using a DVX100. I used a wired lavalier in channel 1 and could only hear mono audio. The place I rented from said, don’t worry, it will translate into stereo once in FCE/FCP. I’ve just imported the audio and it’s still mono.

By using Pan, it appears to give me stereo audio. Is this, in fact, the right way to convert to stereo, or is there something different I should be doing?
