    Hello,

I’m looking into setting up a system for color correction. I was first interested in a JVC LCD setup, but finding that plasma is a lot better with the blacks. There are three I’m looking at right now, and I wanted to know how one could be better than the other:

    Panasonic TH-42PF30U
    Panasonic TC-P55VT30
    Panasonic TC-P42S30

    I have a MacBook Pro that I’d setup with a Matrox MXO2.

Also, I have a lot of web-based media, videos and photos, that I’d like to color correct as well. Is there any reason why my ViewSonic VG2230wm wouldn’t be great choice for this?

Let me know if I should post this elsewhere, but I thought perhaps this would be the best place for professional color grader’s opinions.

Sadly the Matrox box won’t output from DaVinci. BMD I think said at the launch of Resolve for OSX i/o freedom would come at some point but it seems not so yet at least.

I can’t speak about the computer monitor of choice. We’re likely going for NEC monitors at work (Specra View EU-series).

They are all 30 series Plasma panels from Panasonic and I think that makes them similar in performance. The PF panel will have slots that would allow for SDI in. The new Thunderbolt I/O from Blackmagic works with Resolve now.
