Will the USB or COMPONET outs of the camera work while recording to P2 or Firewire out (to FCP) ? As well, is there any way to monitor HD while shooting on the set (other than through FCP)? Hope these aren’t stupid questions but I’m an editor by trade and don’t have much time to prep for a month long shoot. I found a USB input portable LCD that if the USB sends video stream out, it may work. I guess the LCD was designed for video gaming.

    Thanks

You can monitor HD while shooting by using the component outputs.

They’re not active when inputting HD through the firewire though, so you can’t use it as a pass-thru firewire monitoring device.
