monitoring via a VX2000?
Hi,
My JVC mini DV recorder just died and I’m trying to use my VX2000 as a temporary replacement for connecting to an external monitor. I’m using final cut studio 2/ leopard and although I can capture and view media in Log and Capture (device control functions work fine)
I just can’t seem to be able to monitor while editing like the JVC did… any advice would be really helpful!
…by the way, does anyone have any suggestions for a good replacement unit for the JVC SR-VS20U for around $1000?.. basically just for capturing mini dv and to connect FCP to an external monitor.

Your camera needs to be in VTR mode, and you should poke around in the camera menus to find something that looks like “E to E out” or “EE out”.

I have the same problem, how did you do it? is there a vtr mode? and an ee int the menu?

Hi ..
put the VX2000 in vtr mode and set the “A/V->DV out” option in the menu to off. Its the 3rd option under ” VCR set” on the menu.

How do you go into vtr mode? (its not the vcr I am guessing…)
