Monitoring HDV
Posted by Kevin Mcquade on November 8, 2005 at 3:29 pmWhat’s the best way to monitor HDV, I as most of us am new to this whole crazy realm. Even the workflow boggles my mind!
Any tips?

November 9, 2005 at 3:36 amWhat about the monitor, what is best… will any old HDTV do? and what about the whole apple cinema display deal. Will one of those work? and can a G4 power one?

Well, the purpose of using a capture card is the ability to use a cheaper SD monitor instead of an expensive HD one.

You can use a cinema display. An HD Link from BlackMagic will give better results for this. A G4? Hmmm…that shouldn’t be an issue as long as it can run FCP 5.
