Monitoring HDV footage from an Imac?
I’m currently editing a 1080/60i project in final cut on a 27’ / 3.06 GHz Imac and understand that my imac monitor does not properly display colors and interlacing. What is the cheapest/easiest solution to monitor the true output – specifically the interlacing?

You at the older version of the matrox mxo. It uses the DVI port (probably need an adapter). That will give you the truest output. Then you need to have a HD TV.

He’s right. That is the cheapest solution there is. The only other solution is the AJA IOHD, and that runs $3500.

what about the Matrox MXO2 Mini which retails under $500? appears it would accomplish same?

you need either a PCI slot (desktop) or Express34 slot (some MBP). You only have DVI option which is why your options are limited.
