  Monitoring and colour profiles

  Hi

  Just bought a HP LP2475w monitor all seems fine. Just had a look in the MacPro’s ‘Display prefs and noticed that the display profile is set to the monitors own. I have found that the monitors own colour profile seems the same as the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile. The reason I bring this up is because when I work with AE & C4D it has been recommeded that to get the best colours out of the process of working with linear workflow in AE & C4D is to set the colour profile in AE to sRGB IEC61966-2.1

  So with this in mind is it a good idea to set the display to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as the main colour profile so it displays this colour profile between the other application I have on my system…..is that how it kind of works??
