If I were to make a short video in AE and PP, 1920×1080, would it be better to get a 27 inch monitor that is 1920×1080? or one that has a higher resolution?

Will the higher res somehow be a negative?

I like hi-res monitors. A 2560×1600 (or 2560×1440) monitor has room for an entire 1920×1080 comp viewer plus other panels, like the timeline, effects controls, etc.

If you increase resolution but leave the physical size the same, the pixels themselves become smaller. That means some of the UI elements can get pretty small on-screen.

I sort of see your point. I was thinking though when I do a full screen preview in AE the with a 1920×1080, since output is 1920 by 1080,(I am planning to set the Res in AE to 1920×1080 output, renders whatever) each pixel will match nice and evenly, with a 1920 by 1080 monitor. Or doesn’t it work that way?? sell me your idea please Walter, or anyone else that want to chime in
