I am planning on buying a new LCD monitor for my clients to get a full frame view as we work. What should I bear in mind//prioritize when buying a client monitor? Has anyone used ACER monitors in the past and been happy with them? They have a pretty sweet 24″ for under $700.

If you want to get a computer monitor, get a Dell. ACER is a name I havne’t heard in years.

If you’re looking for a good client monitor to view your film, get a Panasonic Plasma screen. They have a 37″ model and the difference between an LCD and a Plasma is that the Plasma can show true black.

Walter’s advice is always good, but if you have time, take a look at the Sceptre 22″ widescreen. It goes for around $350 and it has every kind of connection you could want, including HDMI. Mine will be here this week, planning on using it for bins, and I will report back on how it performs.

Wally speaks the truth. We have about 20 Dell LCDs in the facility, ranging from 20″ to 24″ and they all work great. You can usually find coupon codes for them too to help save a buck or two.
