As much as resist looking into an electron gun, LCD is not worthy.

As painful as it is, I am looking to buy the JVC TM-H150CGU – 15″(14″ viewable) professional high-resolution video monitor to use for color correction.

What is the best way to connect this to my Power Mac G5 2ghz to use with FCP.

Via a capture card for one. I have both the Sony PVM20L5/1 and the PVM14L5/1 in our two suites which are both multiformat SD/HD CRT monitors. They’re each connected via Component from the Kona 2.

If you want to view via Firewire, you can also get the AJA Io which will allow you to view true uncompressed SD to the monitor via Component, S-Video or

If you only plan to work with DV, you can pick up something as simple as the Canopus ADVC-100 which features S-Video output.

Is Black Magic Standard a good option, or can I achieve the same result by hooking the monitor to the s-video connection on the camera connected to my G5 via firewire?
