Mojo no audio via firewire?
Posted by Ron Dylewski on December 8, 2006 at 2:14 pmHi –
I just moved to a new place and am trying to get an Express/Mojo system (PC) up to snuff. Apparently the system will need capture audio via Firewire. Is this a common problem? Is there a workaround? Or…?
Thanks
Ron

December 8, 2006 at 8:49 pmI don’t understand – is capturing audio via firewire a problem? Or can’t you get audio into the Avid via firewire?
With firewire, everything stays digital. With analog, well, it’s analog.

Sorry if I was being obtuse 🙂
Yes, I can’t get the Avid to sense audio via firewire. The pulldown
is set correctly and it passes video, but no audio.Ron

December 13, 2006 at 1:19 amWhat deck are you using? Is the deck / camera certified? (https://www.avid.com/content/8927/SUPPORTED%20DEVICES%20FOR%20AVID%20EDITOR%20PRODUCTS.pdf)
From the dumb question but you gotta’ ask file; Do you have audio on the tape?
I’ve had problems with source tapes from VX1000 cameras (they sample audio at 32k – default in Avid is 48k. You can check in the audio settings tab).
