    Hey all,

I am trying to install a new Avid MC3.5 and Mojo DX on a Quad 2.66GHz Mac Pro.

Software launches fine, but when I connect Mojo DX it gives me an error saying:
“Problem connecting to hardware. There was a failure reading the hardware’s Vital Product Data.”

Can’t gets past this, the only option is a “Quit” button.
I installed the Avid PCIe board in slot 4, and chose a 4,4,8,8x config in the Slot Expansion Utility. Avid’s docs specify choosing a 4,4,1,16 config but I’m affraid that 1x is not going to cut it for my RAID card.

    Any clues, advice?

    Thanks much.

My Mac Mojo DX is set up in Slot 3 with a x4 lane width.

I have an ATTO fiber card in slot 4, again, x4 lane width

Slot 2 is empty and Slot 1 is my graphics card which must be x16.

Your lane width allocation is all wrong and you should have the Mojo DX connected before powering up, not after.

Not trying to be rude, but are you really surprised that it’s not working when you deliberately set it up contrary to Avid’s specification?

Actually, sorry, I need to correct some info…

I have a 2008 Mac Pro, it’s PCI lane allocation is fixed at x16, x16, x4, x4 and cannot be changed. I also forgot my RAID controller is in Slot 2! Full house.
