  • MOGRT connected to a JSON file is not displaying data

I’ve spent ages creating a composition in After Effects which links to and displays data from a JSON file. I can see the data displayed when in AE, however after creating a MOGRT file and dragging to the timeline in Premiere, none of the JSON data is displayed.

The same composition, when added to the Premiere timeline using Dynamic Link, does show the data correctly. However that’s no use as I lose the ability to make changes using the Essential Graphics panel.

Can anyone help me to figure out why I’m not seeing the data?

    Many thanks.

For anyone else that discovers this thread, it turns out that JSON is not supported in MOGRT’s. 😂

Apparently only CSV and TSV files are supported.

For anyone looking for similar functionality to MOGRT’s using a JSON file as the data source, check out Dataclay’s Templater plugin. Templater is far more powerful, but it is a subscription-based solution, and it doesn’t work inside Premiere Pro – only in After Effects.
