    Hey,

I’ve run into a bit of a problem using the Mograph Tracer.

Essentially, I’m creating a 3D arrow that will animate (and Bend) around a circular spline. The head of the arrow has been aligned to the spline, and the position property animated. Then, I created sweep nurbs from a rectangle spline to follow behind the head of the arrow.

However, unless I use the limit option in the tracer properties, the arrow is going to fill the whole spline over the course of the animation. The goal is to have several small arrows follow in a circular motion around the spline.

I’ve tried using the limit from end option in the tracer properties but this for some reason messes with the rotation and position of the sweep nurbs….several frames in the render jump 90 degrees in rotation and then back to the normal position. The other problem that I have with the tracer is that the sweep nurbs seem to “stretch”and”shrink” when following the spline due to the limit option.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Chris

If I understand what you’re trying to do, I think the problem is that Tracer doesn’t have much in the way of banking control.

Perhaps this would be a better way to tackle the problem: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/19/863589

    Thanks for the Help.

I have a lot to learn about the mograph plugin. I’m very new to using it (a few days,) and I’m wondering if there are any online or print resources (paid or otherwise) for learning how to use this plugin?

    Best,

    Chris
