    Hello,

I tried to put it all in the subject. Basically I’m trying to make a graphic(!) representation of ripples on a water surface spreading after a water drop has fallen.

Basically I’ve grid cloned a tube primitive, moving only 1 unit in each direction but giving it 10 instances, then with my first step effector scaling it along x and z axis and then animating my next step effector passing through the “plate” of scaled up tubes attempting to make them move on the y axis, thus creating a ripple effect. I just can’t make it work. when I approach the centre of the tube clone all the tubes move in exponentially in unison up or down, but not one at a time with falloff like a ripple should… i hope i’m being clear about what i’m trying to do. (it is not an outwardly growing radio-wave effect i’m looking for.)

    i’m on Cinema 4D 10.1 with mograph, obviously… 🙂

i realise i might be looking at this from the wrong angle.

any advice on how to do this would be immensely appreciated!

    many thanks in advance, david

I’m not able to picture what you’re doing with mograph, but is there a reason that you haven’t used the ripple shader?
