Can anyone enlighten me as to how to get objects to stop jittering around after having fallen and collided with a floor. Unfortunately there’s no “Energy Loss” parameter in MoDynamics. I’ve tried turning up friction, turning down bounce, increasing gravity. I’ve even gone into Project settings to see if there’s something in there I could tweak. Please see this scene I have created.

It’s especially problematic in the case of dominoes as you will see.

    Thanks very much,

    Robyn

I’m only half the thing I say I am, the other half are me.

You’ll want to increase the linear and rotational damping parameters in the tag’s Force tab. You could also increase the deactivation threshold in the dynamics>deactivation tab.

OK, this is just for the test composition I set up.

    1. I key framed ‘Angular Dampening’ from zero to 200% after all major dynamics calculations were done. I went to where I suspected the start of the jittering happens. I key framed it over about 30 frames. These percentages and keyframes will be different for you of course.

    2. I also key framed ‘Follow Rotation’, but only from zero to 5 units…if you use higher values, the pieces will start to reverse their trajectories…which isn’t what you want.

I didn’t bother with ‘Follow Position’ in this test. It seemed to solve the jittering without sudden freezing of the pieces of glass I created.Hope this helps.

    Cheers.
