There seem to be plenty of tutorials around about how to smash an object by throwing a ball or something at it, object smashes, ball stays intact. But how about two objects colliding and both smashing. It seems difficult as you’d need to set the both rigid body tags on both fracture objects to trigger “On Collision”, and therefore neither would trigger as neither are colliding with a “triggered” object.
Any ideas on this? Would be most helpful…

I would have one tag set to trigger on collision, and I’d keyframe the the other one so that it becomes dynamic one frame before the objects collide.

Instead of keyframe dynamics off/on, you can also set the second object to activate at velocity peak. Then it’s a question of tweaking the motion.

Thanks Adam. I’d seen those solutions but wondered if there was some more specialised way of dealing with this problem. Both solutions, although fine for my purposes in this instance are obviously not accurate; objects start to repel each other before they are influenced by the colliding object. Perhaps this is something Maxon might look at for Mograph 3?
    Thanks for your help,
    Simon
