    Hello everyone,

I have some pre-keyed short videos that are less than ideal and I’m wondering if there is anything I can do to help it look better.
The issue is spill. The key itself is good, but there’s a noticeable green spill halo present, saturating hair and clothes a bit. The producer of these segments neglected to add enough spill suppressor. Is there any way to even minimally recreate this tool after a key has already been applied? I’m working on FCP 6 with access to Motion and Color if need be.

    thank you,

    Josh

FC have an Spill Suppression Filter to be used after the keyer.
    Try it.

Try using FCP’s 3-way CC. Limit the effect to the range of the green spill, then desaturate to taste.

Be careful – FCP’s spill suppressor can product some nasty results, sometimes visible as a dark ring around keys. You’re better off rolling your own spill suppressor using the 3-way CC and limiting the effect.
