Modelling a guitar body
Hi all
I’m modelling a guitar body, which will eventually be used to create gcode for a CNC router. I have created the plans in illustrator, and am using extrude nurbs to create the body from the paths. I’m able to create things like the neck pocket and pickup cavities using booleans, but wanted to get a bit of advice on how to contour the outer edge of the body. I can’t use caps because the inner edge of the contour is not a consistent distance from the outer edge of the body.
What would be the best workflow for this? I’ve tried manually adjusting in point mode, but it just felt too imprecise. Can I use a spline to add vertex points to the extruded object? How do you think I should be going about this?
Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Matt
