I am trying to model a neuron – a little new to c4d.

I have tried applying a matrix extrude to a cube and a platonic, but cant quite get it there.

Also once the spiny part is one i need to add the long body, but not sure how to attach it to the spiny part and make i look naturally attached>

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    -Dave-

I would use the MoGraph Extrude object with splines. I did a sample file for someone else (showing growing tentacles) that should help: https://www.3danvil.com/tutorials/tentacle%20grow.c4d

I’m using 11.5 and the file you shared isn’t opening. Are you able to save as 11.5?

I created a tutorial for this exact topic and used X-Particles to achieve the look in no time at all:
