I’m in a beginner’s animation class where we are using Cinema 4D, and I decided that for a certain project I would create a gravestone. Although this seemed simple enough at first, I was perplexed once I got to the task. I asked a kid from the advanced class, and his method involved knifing the shape, which resulted in ugly, jagged edges.

I asked another friend in my own class who is absolutely amazing with the program, and he got pretty far; he used a cube as a hypernurb to create a nice shape, except that the curving edges at the top sort of sunk inwards, so that the shape wasn’t too smooth, and I can’t exactly remember how he did that anyways.

Anyhow, does anyone have any pointers or tips? I would also be interested in creating a sort of pointed-top shape to make it look better.
