  • Mode and Menu buttons not responding

Hello Everyone and thanks for reading my post.

I have a strange problem. My hvx200 is almost 2 years old and today I can’t switch modes or access my menus. The camera turns on just fine and will record, but I cannot go to playback mode and when I push my menu button . . . nothing happens.

Has anyone had this problem before?

I’ve tried resetting the camera, powering it off and on, plugging it into AC power, etc . . .

The problem occurs in both P2 and Tape modes.

    Any help would be appriciated.

What happens when you try to use the remote control? It’s entirely possible that some of the connections between the buttons may need repair.

    Hi Noah,

I thought about that, but the remote doesn’t work either.

Then I’d send it in for repair, won’t be in warranty any more unless you bought an extended service contract but obviously it’s essentially unusable as it is now.

Hi, I know this response is from a very old post but I’m having the same problem that you are. What did you end up doing to resolve your problem?

    Thank you!

oh my, the mother board? Hope that isn’t it! I’m sending mine out to see, the engineer told me about a certain production run that had problems with some cabling so we we’ll see!

    Thank you!

    Hi Mary,
I took it to a local repair place and they diagnosed it for me as a bad motherboard. They ordered it from Panasonic and replaced it. I don’t remember the cost unfortunately, but I don’t think that it was too bad.

    Good Luck,

    Bob
